  • We are still alive!

I know, I know, it has been too long.  I have been fussed at many times for not keeping this up. It has been a very busy time since Landon's birthday.  He started school and our lives are crazy busy.  Landon has school everyday except Thursday, as well as he has therapy on Mon,Wed, and Thurs.  We are on the go all week.  I am not sure what we will do when we had Seren in the mix of things.

We have traveled a lot during the holidays.  We started with Thanksgiving in Pittsfield, IL with Chris's family and then to Tennessee for Christmas.  We had guest in our home as well during these few months.  We finished up with a Peecher family Christmas on the weekend after New Years. I am still trying to get things together and put away.

Chris has been busy with work but able to take a few weeks off.   This was a great time to spend together.  He is trying to caught back up from being gone.  His work is going well.  He is still getting new projects and watching God's plan still going strong.

Landon and Seren have loved seeing all of their friends and family and playing with all of the new toys that they got for Christmas. The best gift that they got was a play kitchen.  The kitchen was their Aunt Kami and Aunt Karin's when they were little.  Chris and Ray got it down from the attic over Thanksgiving.  Chris did some updating on it and wiped off 30 years of dust and dirt, and now it is good as new.  He did a great job!

The kids painted pumpkins for a gift for coming.

    Go Packers!!!

Girls can do anything that boys can!!!

The kitchen for the kids.  Chris replaced the top and stove, as well as painted all that is green.

    Say Cheese!

    We are silly, silly, silly!!!

Landon decided to check out how his kitchen was made.

  • His is the Big Three!!!

Today Landon turned 3. It is hard to believe that he started out at our little 4lbs 4oz baby and now he is about 30lbs.  He has come so far.  We have been getting different therapies at home over the last 3 years and now he is in preschool. We will miss the friends that we have made. Landon is going to a regular elementary school, where they offer developmental preschool.  It is a great program and he is going to do great.  He rode a bus for the first time today and he did fabulous, mom however not so much.  When he got home he did not want to get off of the bus.

Seren and I spent the day just playing. It was really nice to have that time with her.  I feel that she gets left out on mommy time quite a bit.  Seren also has to defend herself against Landon, so she does not get too much Seren time either.  I think that now that he is in school that she will be walking in no time.

We are so excited to be doing the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk this weekend.  It is what we are doing to celebrate Landon and all that he has accomplished.  We are have raised over $900 so far and hope that there is more coming.  We are so blessed to have such giving friends and family.  It is by God's grace that they are part of our lives. Please be praying for us and all of the other families that will be walking in the race this weekend.

And their off!!! This is from our visit with Papa and Grandma in September.

If Papa can do this so can I.

Grandma Pat and Aunt Kami, I am starting early so that I can paly as well as both of you do.

These look way better on me than they do my brother.

    The picture says it all.

Our visit to the pumpkin patch with our friend Grace.

Rachel gave me this hat for my birthday.  My daddy said that it was ok to wear it. Go IU!
Don't cry sister, I will be back in a little while.

    Big man on campus.

I will miss you.  I will see you later. ( what a good big brother)

I am not too sure about this.  I am not sure I really want to ride this thing. ( Ms. Martha is the drivers name.)

This is what the seats look like in Landon's bus.  It is a full size bus with carseats. ( Ms Ellie is the aid that helps on the bus. That is her hand on the seat, sorry Ms. Ellie for not getting your picture.)

Here we go.  If you look close you can see Landon looking out of the window.

Well mommy, I made it. What a great day!

  • The Summer Has Come and Gone

This has been a great summer and lots of memories were made.  We hope that all of you had a great time as well.  Here are a few things that we did over the last 3 months. ( There are a lot of pictures!)

This is the way that our summer stated.  By the end of the summer it was the other way around.
I am doing very well standing up as long as I do not move from this spot.
I have to make sure that Daddy is doing this the right way.

    We really like playing outside.

We enjoyed the Children's Museum .  Aubrie got to spend a lot of time with us this summer.  She is living at Fort Knox while her daddy is on active duty.

Lets see what this baby can do!

My Dad is going to be really mad at me for this one. ( Will's dad is a huge Bears fan.  He was gone the night that we had Will wear this to bed.  It was a surprise for his dad the next morning.)

Let me show you how it is done.

I'm to Sexy for my ...

This is Luke, he became my God son on August 31st, 2008.  What a great honor.

Six of the seven Cusick grandchildren. ( Landon, Seren, Jessey, Hannah, Sarah, Noah, and Griffin, not pictured.)

  • 5 wonderful years

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary.  We have made lots of changes over the past five years.  We have moved 4 times, gained two children, gained a few pounds, lost a few hairs, gained a lot of gray hair, lost some of our family and friends, gained a lot of new friends and family,  bought 2 new cars and bought a house.  Looking back it seems so far from where we started.  We stayed up late talking, now we stay up late cleaning up after the kids and praying that they let us sleep in, ( that never happens).  As Chris told you in the entry before we now have a mini van and have joined the all American family fleet.  I am sure that the next five years will bring many more changes we hope that they are all as wonderful as the past five years.

The kids and I went to the zoo yesterday.  We had the privilege of  our friend Rachel going along with us.  While we were there we met up with our friends Aaron, Julia, Luke and Grace Graham.  Even though it was very hot it was a wonderful day to go.  All of the animals were out walking around so Landon was able to see them.  He would not touch them but was interested in what they  were doing.  Seren on the other hand wanted to touch all of them.  After the dolphin show we had a nice picnic lunch and headed home.

I love to blow bubbles and I love to sing about them even more.

This is too much fun for me.  I am not sure what I am suppost to be doing.

This is the only floor that I can draw on and not get in trouble.

It has been a very long day.

If mom and dad are not going to clean up around here, I guess that I will have to.

I am telling daddy how to mow the grass.

I have their attention now.  This is my grandmother and our family friend Grace.  They came up to visit and the kids were the center of attention.

Landon was a sweetie while my family was here.  He loved on Mimi a lot.

Grandma Pat was a big hit with the kids.  They loved playing with her.

Seren is moving all around.  She is not crawling, but can get what she wants.  She is so active and is a great baby.

Landon loved the zoo and so did Rachel.

Seren thought that the horse liked to have his main pulled.  She really enjoyed the animals  that were up close.

  • Warning: Un"manned" vehicle ahead

     IMG_0951

It was a dark day in Male Chest Pounding History this past Thursday.  Against his better judgement, and at the strong urging of an impatient and very scorned woman, Chris traded in our Land Rover Discovery on a new Toyota Sienna Minivan.  Gone are the days of mudding in the country while chasing down small woodland creatures.  Also gone are the days of joking with Pat, the 4-foot tall mother-in-law and world's tallest leprachan, that she needs a stepladder in order to get into the truck.  And no more mashing down a path through the snow in the driveway in lieu of shoveling.  Chris' manhood parts have now been surgically removed and placed in one of the fourteen convenient storage compartments found in the new Griswold family truckster for safe keeping, as he obviously doesn't need them anymore.  Now its peachy sunny days full of family sing-alongs, the alphabet game, and I-spy-something-freakin-red as we tootle on down the road to a lovely picnic or holiday parade.  I think we'll put a nice daisy in the cup holder, or how about a pretty rainbow sticker in the back window.  As consolation, at least Chris gets to keep his two Volvos for at least another couple of years.  Maybe we'll let him keep his manhood parts in one of their glove compartments, in the event they break down again and he has to fix them.

Oh well... Happy wife, happy life.

And now... a gratuitous nude hot-tub-action photo!

I am trying to find out if you might be Christy Davenport from Knoxville, TN. If so, maybe we were good friend. My name at that time was Cindi Cureton. Please let me know. Thanks cindibateman1@aol.com
